Walk into an Oklahoma dispensary and you'll see far more than "weed." Here's a beginner-friendly tour of the main product types, with rough onset (how fast it works) and duration (how long it lasts). Everyone's different — these are general ranges, not medical advice.

Flower

The classic dried bud, smoked or vaporized. Onset: minutes. Duration: 1–3 hours. Easy to control your dose puff by puff.

Concentrates

Potent extracts (wax, shatter, rosin, live resin) usually vaporized or "dabbed." Much higher potency than flower. Onset: minutes. Duration: 1–3 hours. Best for experienced patients.

Vape cartridges

Concentrate in a cartridge for a battery. Convenient and discreet. Onset: minutes. Duration: 1–3 hours.

Edibles

Food or drink infused with cannabis, dosed in milligrams. Onset: 30 minutes to 2 hours — slow, so it's easy to take too much. Duration: 4–8 hours. Start low (e.g., 5 mg or less) and wait before taking more.

Tinctures

Liquid drops taken under the tongue. Easy, precise dosing. Onset: 15–45 minutes. Duration: several hours.

Topicals

Creams and balms applied to the skin. Generally non-intoxicating; used for localized relief. Onset: varies.
